Currently on our way to Edinburgh for the day, what should we go and see / do? |

The obvious suggestion is to see the castle. Plus you'll have to drink some whisky too. |

Im not a big fan of edinburgh, the zoo agreed is nice but i find the city is overpriced, boring, no real vibe and the scots there are really snobby. Theres hardly any Scots left there tho just loads and loads of foreigners ![]() ![]() |

If you can afford it, there's a brilliant restaurant near the Castle called the Witchery - http://www.thewitchery.com/ Om nomnomnomnom |

Castle, the royal mile, the zoo, there are some nice parks, Arthurs seat, shopping (there, I said it!), there are also some nice little pubs to go in, and the McDonalds have Irn Bru ![]() |

I think that aside from Edinburgh Castle; etc. Ocean Terminal; The Scottish Parliament; The Scottish Government; North Bridge via Princes Street. |

Last time I was in Edinburgh I was trapsed around 20 different shops to find a dress for the purple one. In the end I found myself being dragged two miles out of the city to a fabric shop so she could make her own ![]() The castle was good, and some of the city (to the east IIRC) was quite nice to wander around and see the old buildings and such. |

There's a tour of the underground city which is pretty good, I remember there being signs for the tour on the Royal Mile. Castle for sure, and there's a camera obscura which is really good and that's on the Royal Mile as well. Have a great day ![]() |

Things to do in Edinburgh? Go to Glasgow, it's much better. I might be a wee bitty biased though. Seriously though, the Castle and Scottish Parliment are worth a look if you haven't seen them before. Do bear in mind that everything in Edinburgh is up hill. Even the downhill bits. They should also be gearing up for the festival so there might be some stuff on for that already. |

Is it true that it can be a bit of a nightmare to get a can of Coke in Scotland? And I mean the fizzy drink ![]() |

Coke is as easy to get hold of as in the rest of the UK. It's just that Irn Bru outsells it in Scotland (or it certainly used to IIRC). And tastes better. And is luminous orange. And is good for hangovers. What more could you possibly want from a drink |
