Has anyone had any double glazing fitted recently? Do you know the difference between uPVC and GRP?

I have uPVC at the moment and hate it plus I want something different to everyone else.

Thanks

Carolyn

GRP is more of a resin than a plastic.

Similar properties to uPVC thermally but can have a longer life (usually 25 year warranty & up to 75 years life)

or so what our customer who's a window company have said

windows are kinda of my thing so here are a few bits:

I think both turn yellow over time and will always look a bit naff, if you can I'd invest in good quality timber instead.

Get double glazing with a low-e coating!

Timber of course would look way better, but costs a lot more initially, needs continual maintenance, and by nature of things is more prone to leaks from warping.

The folks last place had timber frames, and we didn't have any of those issues. As for continual maintenance, a lot of treatments these days will ensure it's longevity.

If you pay a bit extra for good quality timber (treated etc). they will last indefinitely.
