Chances are you've watched comic book properties without knowing it ;)

Colour Look Up Tables. So one suggested I look at those because they would help me with something I'm doing. Basically, it's a way of transforming pixels in an image by a known amount. So instead of marching through an image applying curves, brightness, contrast etc. etc., you modify a reference image and then pass that reference and the image you want to modify to the CLUT routine, and it happens. I'll be playing with that next week.

That May's Tesco Boost period will be the last, because they've found ways to give you value all year round! Allegedly. In actual fact, not very fcuking likely...

Since Boost was one of the reasons I got a credit card with them I'll have to see how this plays out and consider getting a new provider.

The fastest american military helicopter is not the Apache, it is the Chinook, because it has two sets of blades, it can provide more forward velocity without the blade velocity itself breaking the sound barrier and thus breaking apart.

Wasn't there a helicopter developed in the late 70s/early 80s that could achieve supersonic speeds? :P

I can do synchronous translation between German and English! We had our 20 year company celebration over the last 2 days and I got roped in to do the translation of the speakers at the last minute. I had to sit at the back of the hall and translate the speakers words into English as he gave the presentation, so that those in the audience with headsets could understand what was being said.

Very stressful, now I know why the translation company wanted to send 2 people to do the job - they usually swap every 5 minutes. Yesterday afternoon it was very technical and I ended up having to do the last 3 workshops alone!

ISTR, that there was a prototype, which was a mix between helicopter and gyrocopter. It worked as a helicopter at low speeds, but used jets for high speed and the rotors were just used for lift. I've never heard that it was a success (or a failure).

Airwolf was a Bell 222 - good for about 130 MPH, but could manage Mach 1 when you sped up the footage - a bit like KITT :D
