Looking for the name of a film which starred a gorilla. Think it was a made-for-TV film where a woman studies gorillas, makes a relationship with one, humanises him but in the end, he's still an animal. Don't believe they ever venture out of the jungle. I remember one bit vividly because it was so disturbing.

Could be. I cannot recall much of the film now. Definitely not Mighty Joe Young.

Could it be Max Mon Amour?

It would have been a PG-rated film that was aired on Channel 5 at around 3-4pm. It was not an 18-rated film!

I remember they used to have late night smutty films but didn't they stop that a few years back?

Mighty Joe Young? Mighty Joe something anyway. Charlize Theron was in it I think.

Already discounted above. Only thing that springs to mind is Buddy with Rene Russo, but I think it was set in NY :?

There's a scene in Gorillas in the Mist where poachers kidnap some gorillas, that's harrowing. Another +1 from me.

So not Dunston Checks In then :-D

Gorillas in the Mist was, as most here will know, based on the story if Diane Fossey. The gorillas she was protecting were the ones David Attenborough famously spent time with. I'm not sure if the film the OP mentioned fits with thus one, though I do remember it being quite stark in its assessment of the situation.

well pcernie hasn't shaved for 2 weeks so I guess the film/DVD you are looking for would be "A rough guide to Northern Ireland: the primitive species"
