Post subject:  New jeans needed...

Today, a fairly harmless knee hole in my jeans got caught on the window winder in the car and has turned a smallish hole into a gash that runs halfway up my thigh.

I hate shopping for new jeans. I'm not ever after anything too smart, just durable, a nice mid blue, baggy fitting, and they must have deep pockets.

My last two pairs have been from Matalan (denim 42 or something), but they've only occasionally had pairs that I've liked.

So, my question is, what do you all look for in jeans, and where do you shop?

I look for the word Levi and buy the plainest they have, will last years.

Doubt they would for me, rig washing machines are notorious for ruining good clothes.

The last batch I bought were "Urban Republic", very comfortable, durable and lots of room in the pockets. I'd certainly buy them again.

Asda do some good ones as long as you avoid the cheap ones.

Levi 501.

Just bought a new pair from TKMax today :-)

Love them.

NEXT seems to get a lot of my custom why I need new clothes.
I don't shop for the jeans you are looking for though, so I've no idea if they sell that sort of stuff.

Last time I checked Levi 501s weren't exactly baggy. Last time I bought Levis it was 550 for bagginess, but that was nearly 10 years ago now. My latest pair (I only have one, MAX two pairs at any given time) are from Burton. They fit all of your criteria and were £30 I think. I hate all the different styles, colours and fashion bollocks these days and told the guy in the store that. I asked for "a pair of jeans I can dress up or down in a colour that works with most shoes and that has enough pocket space for the largest smartphone on the planet (Galaxy Note)". He laughed awkwardly and then proceeded to do a great job at finding the only pair in the store that did that.

I like baggy and durable jeans too, and usually get them from Next for reasonable prices.

+1 for Burtons. I find them to be comfortable and cheap.

Levis used to be good but I'm not a fan of their latest one which I recently bought. The bet deal I ever had was two pairs of designer jeans from a sale a couple of years ago. Both had style, were very comfortable but are still going strog now. £10 each.

Am I the only one struck by the irony of l3vi not liking Levis? :? :lol:etc:

Levi or Wrangler

Or lately I buy from C&A, their jeans cost around 20€ on offer (2 for 40€) and compared to the Brax I had last time, they are more durable. My first pair of Jinglers was bought in 2005 and I wore a hole in them last year. The Wranglers lasted about 3 years and the Brax between 3 months and 1 year.

Due to my rather monsterous frame, it's largely a matter of who stocks my size. That largely rules out any of the large high-street retailers. High and Mighty is my usual source of such things.

I usually go for EVISU, Etienne Ozeki or Ecko for jeans.

Although that does limit where I can buy from but it's made up by the fact they do a 36" inside leg.
