Would you describe that as an "action" cartoon?

It was a hard choice between Mask and Transformers, but it had to be Transformers in the end. I did love Ulysses though.

You know you could have chose both? Out of the ones I remember watching: He-Man:Used to love this show. I distinctly remember trying to lift a couch after seeing He-Man lift Castle Grayskull. The New Adventures of He-Man aired in the early 90s was okay but not as good. The storylines were a little better but Skeletor was nowhere near as evil. I found the 2002 remake more boring and it was partly due to the pastel-based palette. Here's hoping the planned movie is better than the 80s one with Dolph Lungren. Jayce and the Wheeled WarriorsI used to love waking up on Sunday mornings (7 or 8am) to watch this. It was absolutely awesome. M.A.S.KI tried watching this but it never grasped my interest. The only thing I did like was the red car called Thunderhawk. I remember making a similar one out of Lego. Teenage Mutant Hero TurtlesThis was a fantastic show. Back in the 80s, this was really 'hip'. The 2003 remake was even better, more serious and a touch darker. An enjoyable remake, until they started faffing around with future/space crap. ThundercatsI found this show immensely enjoyable and knew the Sword of Omens was much more powerful than He-Man's Sword of Power. The action was better, the storyline was better, the animation was better - it was a vastly superior product to MOTU. TransformersThe only show I loved as a kid (of what I did watch) and hated as an adult. The toys were the mainstay of this show's success. Obviously the movie propelled the Transformers fanbase to new heights.

For me, at the time it was Thundercats. Unfortunately I watched a few episodes recently, and they don't hold up as well as I remember. I'm quite sure Lev has my back, when I say Mysterious Cities of Gold FTW!!! (not really action though) Nor was it made in the 80s.

quote="cloaked_wolf" I suspect I could get into the 90s show more these days than I did as a kid (too different to the original I worshipped at the time ), and I also remember Skeletor being more comedic 'Man, where do you get batteries for that thing!?' when He-man lit up the sky with the power sword lol. I liked some of the ideas in the 2002 show, but agree about the palette. I downloaded it and got halfway through the first series, have to finish it... Only ever saw the intro to this on YT, looked good though. Remember the toys from this more than the show... Completely agree, and the space crap was a big problem with the comics also IMO. Agree about it being better in every way, but MOTU was the original I 'spose... I still watch the DVDs today, and it's one of those shows (like many of the above) that make me wonder how animated shows have better characterization than most 'proper' films Oh, and BraveStarr was the sh1t too

He-man. Simply because I grew up watching it on Cartoon Network, and because if you search for "Skeletor Beastman!" in youtube, and watch the GnarKill video, it's just plain Lulz.

Although I've heard of them, I never actually watched any of them at the time. My parents made me do my homework before I was allowed to watch TV, and by then it was too late! I voted for He-Man and Transformers, although I'd love a chance to see all of them. In particular, Thundercats. Everyone raved about it, but I've yet to see a single episode :'( Now that, I do remember very well Apparently the original didn't have that annoying 7-Zark-7 explaining all the bits they had to cut out. However, with no 7-Zark-7 there would be no 7-Zark-7 fan-porn

Thundercats, hooooo. Thunder Thunder Thunder Thunder cats. I had Thundercats wallpaper, I wish I still had it, better than textured magnolia swirls anyday.
