I tend to buy these as a quick source of energy eg long drive and feeling tired, or because I like the taste. Otherwise I don't bother.

Anyway, they're going to be taxed:

That's bad news as we sell a sports-drink :(

Nobody likes tax, but it does rather sound like a loop hole. I don't see why they should be exempt when other drinks aren't.

Never really bothered with them. They're just another sugary soft drink, just at twice the price of the ordinary sugary soft drink because the label has a sprinter on it.

I don't really buy sports drinks.
I sometimes uses them if I'm driving, but that's only because I can't stand Red Bull and they don't sell Irn-Bru 32 anymore.
I know they're not caffine drinks, but it's better than a coke.

Lucozade Orange I drink once in a blue moon, but they're ridiculously priced as it is.

Don't drink them, so won't affect me.

But hey, I'm sure they'll get me some other way

I buy them because of the sports cap, makes it harder to spill in the car (the bottles mean they're not an open container)

You can get water in those bottles. I'm tight, so I reuse the same bottle with chilled tap water. Sometimes with a splash of lemon, or even Ribena if I'm feeling really decadent.

I drink them if I have an upset stomach as they provide sugar and some hydration but they are closer to a soda or confectionery item so definitely should be taxed at the same rates.

Moi aussi. But without the lemon or Ribena!

Of course you don't eat chocolate, which is basically a sports/energy drink in solid form (sugar).
