My cat has been particular fussy with her food and I find it rather frustrating. I want her to be happy but she's just impossible. Talking to other cat owners, I know I have similar experiences so I'm wondering how people on here compare. To give you an example, she's been complaining of being hungry the last two days but refusing to eat her usual flavours of "Felix Meaty Loaf" pâté or the dried "Purina ONE Salmon" she sometimes likes so much. She demonstrated this by regurgitating the dried food, bringing in a large rodent, saying quite clearly "That's real food!" and eating it before I had the chance to say WTF?! Today I've tried her on a couple of other wet foods, and she's done the usual thing of sucking off the gravy or jelly and spitting out the actual food... then carrying on complaining about being hungry. She's not touched any dried, just converted the wet into dry... So, should I just let her eat rats or what? Your experiences are appreciated! |

The problem is obvious; your cat has become a zombie and is craving brains. |

Our cats pretty much eat anything, the only reason I haven't ticked the pate option is that I've never given it to them, I suspect they would eat it given a chance though since they like brussels pate ![]() I presume the Monster Munch option was for Elmer? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Ours just eats wet food; sometimes in jelly, sometimes in gravy, but usually one of the supermarket seniors options. He doesn't have any teeth at all so biscuit and other dried food isn't much of an option. He's very good at hoovering up any protein that Oli has left on his plate / the floor. |

Seriously? You've got a cat that doesn't have any teeth? I looked after a friend's cat for six months or so. He was given dry food only on vet's instructions, but he'd eat pretty much anything that counted as food that he could get his paws on. Jon |

My cat is fussy - one day she'll have a favourite then not touch it. Variety seems to be the key, she gets biscuits pate and wet food. |

Usually a mix of biscuits and those meat sachets, but we break it up by giving her fresh cooked chicken or tinned tuna occasionally. |

My parent's cats have always been picky about food. My cats were never picky. When I emigrated my parents took on my cats. My cats became picky. I never game them too much choice. Dry biscuits always available and the odd treat such as tinned tuna. If they wanted anything else they had to catch it themselves, and they did. If I have cats in the future they will have a limited choice and live with it. I wouldn't want to spoil them. ![]() |

Yep, none at all. Because of where we live our cats are indoor only ones that we pick up from the Cat's Protection. What that means is that they all have FIV (cat version of AIDS). One of the main areas that effects cats is that they tend to have very bad teeth. He got an issue with them and so he had to have some taken out by the vet. By the time the vet had taken out all the rotten ones he only had one tooth left and that was already broken down so he took it out to save having to do a second surgery and thus avoid a second dose of anaesthetic. |

Cat AIDS? Good lord. I have a strange desire to invent dentures for cats now you've told me about it. |

If I had cats their diet would be all they can eat in rats. I don't like cats. I spend a lot on rat bait. |
