They've got to stop using that song.

"Born in the U.S.A." is not a patriotic song. It's not a happy song. It's not about winning or triumph or anything positive. It does rock, for sure, and the title says "U.S.A." But that's where the good times end.

Much the same as I thought about them using 'London Calling'. it's not in any sense a song in praise of the city.

Reagan also used the song in one of his campaigns, again, failing to actually listen past the chorus.

+1. I think I first heard it in some film and then went and read up about the lyrics. Realised what it stood for. Unforunately, most Americans haven't heard anything other than the chorus and know nothing about the song. They think it's patriotic when in fact it's anti-american (I forget the term).
