How many pages guys? I've been a two pager for years, but thinking it's needs to get shorter. It's crammed full at the moment, so it'll be a challenge. Those of you who see CVs regularly, what are you thoughts and what stands out to you - good and bad? Also, has anyone else used http://www.rezscore.com Very eye-opening!  And I used to do this for a living...!! |

I was a believer in the 2 page CV. When I interviewed at Apple, I was prompted to get it down to a single side of A4. Quite the challenge, with literally 100+ individual jobs over a decade. But, as an exercise, it's great. By trimming the waffle, keeping it pertinent to the job you're applying for, it really focuses your CV. Let the interviewer pick up and ask about the things that are of interest to them. Perhaps, though, that's an approach better suited when you've got a string of reasonably involved jobs. |

I've recently trimmed mine down to two pages. I cut out the crap (duties) and focused on achievements. EDIT - I wouldn't worry too much about having hundreds of jobs. Optimism would show employability rather than anything else. |

That website looks quite interesting, will have to have a play this evening when I'm not using an outdated version of IE that breaks when you try and view the results. |

My CV has 2 pages, Any changes I make have to fit in those 2 pages. |

I have always been two full pages. I have been part of a company who wouldn't consider more than two pages, either the application would be rejected or pages 3+ would be omitted before given any thought. The worst three page CVs I've seen are where the applicant has let the references post codes or phone numbers drop to the next page One page sounds interesting, but it could be a squeeze...Getting all the info on there without making it look crammed... |

I am also a 2 page man- I always tailor my CV to each job so that way I can keep it down to 2 pages. |

Top one. And I've been strongly advised to give a 2 page CV with full page covering letter for graduate recruitment schemes. |

Technically, isn't it a contraction of 'five years of experience' rather than the possessive case? Just dropping the 'of' doesn't require an apostrophe. |

There's no need for the apostrophe if you use the word "of", also I don't think it's truly necessary to put in an apostrophe at all, it's just a style thing. I tend to avoid using an apostrophe by re-writing the sentence to something like: I have years of experience in. It's the same sort of deal as using an apostrophe when you say things like "'phone", I don't bother as phone is a common word even if it is short for mobile telephone. |
