I'm so excited!! I like the look of the new companion, I just hope they've got one that doesn't go all sappy about the Doctor.

It's looking likely that the first episode from this season will air on the 25th of August.

Arse. I'm away that weekend, and the following weekend is another one that's booked for things.

I'll be recording them, though.

Jesus yes. If they have to have the 5000m runners dodging flying javelins as they go round the Olympics will finish on time. Worldwide TV broadcast time isn't cheap, so they simply won't over-run.

There's reasons for that "random" time.
Stephen Moffat has done it deliberately. Same reason it's a split season.
He doesn't want the audience becoming complacent in thinking that at such-and-such a time in the year Doctor Who will be on.
He thinks that'll lead to complacency and therefore dwindling audience.
He's trying to keep the audience on it's toes.

What about those of us who only use the tuner in the television a handful of times a year?? If I hadn't come in here, I'd have missed it.

He's a great writer, but I just want to see the show, not have to worry about when it's on.

Didn't know it was split either.

The last time someone messed with my schedule it was Five when they moved CSI. I was at the end of the season where Grissom was starting to lose his hearing and I'd seen every ep at that point. I've never seen it since and I have no idea what happened to Grissom, or how Larry Fishburne ended up replacing him. Television viewing is the definition of a religious activity. There ought to be memos about these things!
