The Fate of the Furious breaks global box office record - BBC News

Yeah, they got a $190m boost by releasing simultaneously in China, none of the other films were released in China until weeks later. Gotta love those massaged numbers.

These sorta headlines always are. And a lot of it is to mask that China is making up for money they effectively lost in the US - Terminator Genysis, Batman Vs Superman, Transformers...

Thor And Hulk Face Off In First Trailer For ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Only watched a few moments but something feels a little weird about it :? :|

I loved the vibe I got from the trailer. I ended up watching it several times.

I agree that "proper" Norse mythology has been left by the wayside but IMO the whole Thor films feel that way. In some ways, I loved how they involved Hulk and the Planet Hulk storyline but I am concerned about how it will fit in.

From the gist I got, it does feel like they've merged about three story arcs that I've actually read. And I'm not even a big Thor fan. It would be a fcuksight better if they'd tone down the Shakespeare-style schtick in the comics, even just a little...

I really hope they know what they're doing because Ragnarok should be a film event in itself, as should Planet Hulk. I really don't want a bloody bridge film to Infinity War and not much else. The Thor movies are the weakest of the individual arcs so far as it is.

Completely agree that the Thor films are the weakest ones. I think by teaming up with Hulk, it should make for a stronger film.

Whedon could wipe his hole on a piece of paper and it'll still be the best script WB will ever film for this series of films.

I still haven't seen any of them since Casino Royale.

It was the only one worth watching of that set IMO.

Saw a couple of good trailers when i went to see Logan the other day.
1) saw a new trailer for Guardians of the galaxy 2. Looks epic
2) there's some new bond/bourne-esque film with Orlando Bloom in. It looked good.

Orlando Bloom's still acting? I thought he'd given up.

Some aren't sure he'd ever started.

It doesn't stand a chance if McG is even hired as producer never mind director.

And they need to realise He-Man is almost just the guy who links everyone else. Truthfully he's the dullest character in the entire canon and that's partially why it's called 'masters of the universe'; that includes Team Skeletor in that description. And by fcuk they absolutely have to get him right or the whole thing is sunk.
