LRM appear to have pulled the Indiana Jones story.
But really? Were they going to set it in a retirement home? Will many people want to see it after a Crystal Skull pissed on fans chips? Mind you, if Star Wars is anything to go by the answer is probably yes even if it shouldn't be.

I always wondered why they didn't explore the Matrix more. You had the three movies. You had the Animatrix which had some short stories. And there was the game, which also provided some backfill. Was there anything else?

Having had a look, there were a few comics and another game. But they could have done so much more. It would have been the Star Wars of the Noughties.

While I have no particular problem with the sequels I don't think you can say they were as good or better than the first film. But yes, that universe had a lot of scope for exploration and development which wasn't really explored.

It does look amazing, but then so did Suicide Squad. Clearly Snyder was told to add humour. And it's still got a BS colour filter going on.

At least Superman isn't dragging it down yet.
