Ok, I won an auction, paid immediately and waited patiently for my bargain HD5450 to arrive. Almost two weeks pass and no joy. I contact the seller and ask why it hasn't arrived, and he says he'll dig out the tracking info and get back to me. Two days later - nothing. I ring him again and I get an "oh yeah, sorry I didn't send that one recorded, I'll have to issue a refund for you". First of all, the auction stated £5.99 express delivery. I won it for £11.01 plus delivery, so £17 all in - not bad for a "New/Other" item. This was a 99p auction, and I don't think it sold for as much as he was hoping. I certainly don't believe that he posted it and it got lost in the system, especially as he lied about the postal method. Now, he is ignoring messages and phone calls and, nearly a week later, I still haven't received a refund. I've sent him a final message stating that I will raise a dispute if he hasn't contacted me by 4pm Friday. Now, after all that, do I raise a dispute through paypal or ebay? Or both? Anyone? |

I'm not sure if you can raise a dispute in PP, but eBay are generally fcuking awful so don't be surprised if they p1ss you about, despite everything you're telling them ![]() |

Raise an ebay dispute. The seller then has 10 days to sort it or you get a refund. Opening a dispute usually causes a seller to refund straight away (as it'll lock the money in their Paypal account and cause them grief) |

Don't let him fob you off. I did that once and by the time I tried to raise a dispute I'd missed the deadline. |

You can always ring eBay. They are pretty good. The problem is some sellers operate practically empty accounts so even if they do pay you back if the account is empty you get nothing. So much for payment protection. ![]() |

Claim it from ebay then, they are essentially an escrow and you pay for the use of their service, to leave an innocent buyer out of pocket and with no product is totally unacceptable |

Yes but they still have their deadlines and you can fall foul of them. |

Nope. If ebay issue you a refund then you get the money. If the seller has an empty paypal account then their account goes in to negative balance. If the seller doesn't get their account back to £0 or above then paypal send in the debt collectors. |

Well, what do you know, threaten a dispute and suddenly he learns to respond to messages. He says I should have a refund on Monday. We shall see. If I haven't had it by the time I log on on Tuesday morning, I'm raising the dispute. |

Well check that the date for reporting a dispute is not close. You might get caught out that way. |

You're almost as distrusting as I am mate. ![]() Paid for it June 26th, and I believe you get 45 days from the date of payment. |
