Anybody achieving over 20,000 posts gets the rank of "Tim"? ;)

Is it possible to set it up so you can input your own rank once you spam over 5000 posts or so?

I think that particular rank (Legend) so come at considerably more than 500.

I like Ewan's 20,000+ suggestion. (8+D

Plus, those of us who only post "useful contributions" will be noobs for ages :(, sure, if you want the spammers to go mental trying to hit a meaningless level, then by all means set it high.

20k will be legend status, something to aspire to.
n00b status would be limited to under 10 posts or so

How do they work? Is it just on posting activity or is it like the Old Place where simply any forum activity goes to increase the level?

I think they're based on post count.

I was wondering about better categories, to make them less geeky. I was working on a series of mountain peaks, each one getting higher and higher, culminating with Mountain Monarch or something. But, I don't think my idea is very good.

*sigh*

Well in that case can't we have some form of Karma system (not sure how hard it is to implement) where people can give others Karma for good posts, thus improve levels this way?

Hobgob.

BTW I should get +1 Karma for this idea.
