Has anyone else watched this and thought WTF?

As far as I am concerned, it was billed as a drama about how three soldiers coped at home on their return from a tour of duty in Iraq. So, how did they cope? They all went back. :?

My Wife thought that she would settle down to watch this on Tuesday night but soon lost interest as it turned into another military drama (of sorts).

I enjoyed (if that's the right word) the two parts so far, but that's because I am interested in the political aspects of the war in Iraq as well as the military aspect and I was wanting to watch the drama about the men after returning home. This third aspect of the program (which actually seems incidental to everything else in the program) is also interesting.

For anyone who's watched the adverts for the program, you may recall a scene where all three men are sitting together, in a pub iirc in suits, looking a bit lost. Well we haven't seen this scene and by the time the program ended last night, it was pretty clear that we won't (or will we?). So was that a deleted scene? Did the editors decide to remove half of the scenes of life at home in favour of more action?

I'm confused.

Bear in mind there's another 2 episodes. Lots of time for story telling.

I saw these were available on the iPlayer yesterday. I think I'll check them out later, but they look good from what I can tell.

I have seen the first two episodes (out of three)and as (SPOILER ALERT) it looks like one of the three is now dead, I don't see how his story will develop much and it looks like the other two guys are not going to be spending much time back home judging by the preview of the third episode at the end of the second.
