morning all,
...i decorated my computer room out.so this weekend probably starting friday its out with 7 pc's,5 monitors,4 external hard drives, power plugs galore, god knows how many speakers and subs, routers and 2 rather large glass fronted cabinets that store games for countless consoles and paperwork for the business.anyone got a spare few days and a paint brush??
by the way im still letting the wife choose the colour.....fool.

I am having similar upheavals “promised” for my work room too. There are rumblings about replacing the windows in the house too. There’s a lot of unplumbing and moving of kit needed to accommodate these ideas.

Friday is bad for me, if you'd given more notice I'd be up for beer & painting.

Have you considered buying yourself a rack for all the farms to save a bit of space?

PS, you've been Chimped :D

strangely enough i have considered a rack but over the last few days ive built 2 phenom 2 x4 rigs into some old but large cases that i had left over from my "holy [LIFTED] is that my leccy bill" saga back in february.although removing the 2 glass cabinets will give me a lot more room for maybe my old tv and n64 to finally take residence in there instead of the wardrobe plus my numerous other consoles of the past ;)

Good luck and have fun with the decorating, god knows it's a lot of fun when you really get down to it and ever so satisfying having everything clean, neat and tidy once it's all moved back in!

I'm moving house in a couple of weeks, can't wait to move all my gear =p

Get a Dulux Paint Pod roller system, it's shockingly shight but makes decorating a bit more interesting and the Auto clean gives you time to sit down for a cuppa before doing it manually.

I love DIY and decorating.

You doing everything, or just a lick of paint? There's nothing more rewarding than a good old bit of decorating! Unless of course you are making a room look awful.

I do quite a lot of stuff for my parents and their style is so far from mine it's horrible. All paint must be stripped from all wood and it's usually patina'd. Yuck. :x

I truly hate decorating. It is satisfying to see the results if it all goes well, but I'm untalented and clumsy so it takes me ages and there's always collateral damage.

The disgusting wallpaper that was up when I moved in 10 years ago has finally been removed, and the walls are now painted white. It took me weeks because they'd stuck it on with some kind of PVA which needed scouring to get off in tiny little pieces. I also have so much clutter that it takes days of rearranging stuff to gain access.

If I was decorating an empty house before I moved in, then that might be less frustrating.

I wouldn't complain about your wife picking the colour.

a.) One less job for you

b.) If it goes wrong (looks appalling) you can't be blamed

Anyway, enjoy the room when it's done and what the hell!? More sockets? Just how many rigs do you have?

PVA??? Do you mean the glue itself was rubbery and stringy? That is most unusual. :?

Did you try using a steamer? They work wonders and only cost around £30-£40.

i do everything myself as ive done a fair bit of property renovating in the past for other people plus my own properties.electical, plumbing well pretty much anything really apart from the wallpapering,i just cannot abide wallpapering,a bit strange really as my dad was a painter and decorator by trade.
