I like playing with macro, it's not as sharp as it should/could be though.

What I find with macro is you need buckets of light to use it properly. Or a steady hand/solid tripod.

I thought it was random crap although I did take the kunst wet pic in Brussels. Its supposed to be funny though not showcasing talent :s

I think it's anything people want to post. In the old Meeting Place, some users used to use it as a serious showcase for their work (or to hint they've updated their flickr account (8-p) ), whilst others posted "amusing" photos. It was also used as a general photo-discussion thread. I'm not sure how it'll develop now we have a separate photography forum.

When I recreated this thread here I did think hard about if it should be in the Photography section or not. Ultimately I went with here as it's likely to get more overall exposure.
Like Edd says, it's not solely for the purpose of self promotion, so the more contributors to it the better.
