Steve Dillon: Judge Dredd, Preacher and Punisher comic artist dies

From the BBC:

Quote:
Steve Dillon, the legendary British comic book artist, known for his work on Preacher, Punisher, and 2000AD's Judge Dredd has died aged 54. His brother Glyn confirmed the death on Twitter, saying his "big brother and hero" had died in New York City. Dillon was a prolific artist who began professional work at age 16, drawing for Marvel UK's Hulk magazine. He was best known for his US collaborations with writer Garth Ennis, creating classic cult comic titles.

Quote:
Dillon arrived in the United States in the late 1980s, where some of his most popular strips were created. The Hollywood Reporter says it was at DC's Vertigo imprint that he collaborated with author Garth Ennis, first on the critically acclaimed Hellblazer and then on Preacher. Vertigo Comics paid tribute on Twitter, saying: "We lost a giant among creators and artists today. He will be missed by all of us here."

Complications following a burst appendix apparently.

Bugger off, he was best known for drawing Judge Dredd better than anyone else.

If you thought Man of Steel was bad... Honestly, it's not even worth watching as a setup film for Justice League, never mind it's own 'merit'.

Did Supes and Swampy merge somehow? They're desperate to make something of Swampy.

Sort of. Superman is being rejected by the Earth itself and ST tries to harmonise him with Nature. Or something.

All I read there was 'blah blah hater blah'. (8+p
I thought the film was actually pretty okay - but watch the extended version.

Jesus wept. The big two need to do a total Bobby Ewing, only pretend the last decade or whatever never happened.

Both of those films are [LIFTED]. Faux, clueless moodiness. Nobody wants a decent Superman movie more than me, and these definitely aren't it.

And I really can't stand 'hater'. It's just a lazy way of debating something. The recent Superman films aren't worth hatred!

ION, Suicide Squad... Gave up after an hour. I'll finish it when I can be arsed, maybe. First hour is introductions with mixed/crap dialogue and scenarios, and you still don't get characterisation. It's so desperate that almost every scene has a popular song attached to it, I kid you not.

I doubt I'll bother.

Even though they are dated, I don't think Superman can be done better than in the first two Christopher Reeves films.

It'll certainly be at least half a decade before you see another serious attempt at Supes.

This (sort of) reboot is heresy of the worst kind.

The hook being where it is now is driving me mad! The comic isn't up to much either.

I'm not familiar with that one, though what was the similar thing in 2000AD? Or is this it?
