I've already been a few times. Off the top of my head: The Rock - great views of Empire State and Central Park Macy's (take your passport shopping as you get a discount) Ground Zero Statten Island Ferry (which is free for good views of the Statue of Liberty) Also sign up for the bus tours as they include a boat ride around Manhattan If you want a chat before you go let me know |

If you like a museum the MET in central park is good Walk Brooklyn Bridge at Night - its safe Have a drink in the rooftop bar of the hotel I stayed at (50 Bowery - near China town), spectacular view up Manhattan ) - Very pricy drinks though If you like food - Katz Deli is worth it |

On one of my visits to New York I went to a bar at the Hilton on 13th floor over looking the Statue of Liberty. Things change so quickly in New York I don't think it's around any more however I have found this link Bars near the Statue of Liberty If you can arrange drinks before sunset it's great to see all the lights come on |

Have you found a Broadway shows and booked? I know some have to be booked several months in advance. If there is something you really want to see, it is probably worth reserving it now, to avoid disapointment. |

My advice still stands - look on tripadvisor forums for their travel guides, which I found useful, and the NYC section of the forum which had lots of useful hints and tips. Plan well - go by proximity so it's easier and make adequate time for everything. Book tickets in advance for things you really want to do. Get some comfortable walking shoes. |
