Here, I get budget for maybe 8 new machines a year

Ah well we have 500 people in the London site alone and that's not including Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Milan, Munich and now offices in Russia! Think our last big order was 150 machines which was for the year. Was a bit hard to find room for them all but the pile is slowly going down now.

*blank look* what's trains got to do with it?

Funnily enough I don't take Dell desktop computers & monitors on any trains.

10,000 birds trapped in Twin Towers memorial light

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... light.html

It could be news but this is a major fail.

Quote:
Two beams emanating from Manhattan, known as the Tribute of Light, had to be turned off five times to allow the migrating birds to continue on their journey last week.
The birds were on their way from Canada to the warmer climate of the Caribbean and South America.
Families remember July 7 victims on fourth anniversary of bombings
They do not always fly over New York and the last time their migratory path coincided with September 11 was in 2004.
The Tribute of Light is turned on by the Municipal Art Society every year on the anniversary of the attacks.
Monitors from New York City Audubon, a conservation organisation, observed this year's tribute and alerted organisers to the confused birds.

Work fail:

The office keeps emailing out documents in .docx formats that they want us to fill in, even though they know our software is so old it can only open the older .doc format.

I think there is a plug in you can install to open later files. I guess your IT dept are not installing it.

We're now rolling out Office 2010 and there's even mention of Windows 7 soon. Oh the joys! :)

office 2003.

Ordering a CD album for £1.25 total, thinking you've got a bargain, then it arrives and you realise you mistakenly ordered the single with the exact same name :x

Car hire fail.

Avis still haven't collected the bloody car. I waited in all afternoon. Do they expect me to wait in all evening too?

Halo Reach fail...

There's an achievement if you complete mission 2 without using a vehicle. I ran across the whole level, on Heroic setting, even destroying several tanks with hand held weapons, solo. (The alternative is to use vehicles and a crew of 3-4 to help). It was hard and took ages. Thing is I didnt get the bloody achievement???

Had a look online and it turns out Bungie consider 'mission 1' to the whole opening cutscene bit so the first mission you actually play is mission 2! WTF! All that time wasted.

There is the reason why I will not be using multiplayer options. I struggle on easy level.
