I've done DIY jobs in the house. It's my first home and really the first time I started doing DIY. I can empathise with the relief that something's worked out after going wrong instead of the sense of accomplishment that something has been done well.

Youtube has been very useful in watching how to do something, which is easier than reading a post. Even then, forums like ultimate handyman, screwfix community, and diynot have been helpful in asking for advice.

Yup, I use YouTube all the time. Also got some big DIY encyclopedias from... somewhere. I need all of it, my dad never bothered his hoop showing me anything useful.

Jesus wept, a guy on a podcast mentioned a pinball machine and now I want a pinball machine.

I've had a few drinks, but yeah, right?

EDIT - I'd be needing more than a few drinks, £950 for a piece of crap at the cheapest! I could build my own skeezy bar with that!

This absolutely fascinating article on Dominic Cummings, Boris' chief advisor

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/extra/09jpSj ... ing_street

Boris will dump him of course, the real issue will be if Cummings sees it as enough of a betrayal to take revenge. He'd certainly know where the skeletons were, Boris hasn't even the wit to get his story straight on a 15K dodgy payment.

Should I go and watch Sonic the Hedgehog?

Is it just me or is the plastic coating on bank/credit cards really crap now?

I have years old store cards in better condition than new bank-issued ones.

I'm with Barclays, and that bank doesn't put that horrible shiny plastic coating on it's bank cards. </Smug Mode>

You can't ship Transformers joints-fixing nail varnish to Northern Ireland with Amazon...

Am I missing something here? I mean people can get on a commercial plane with a standard bottle of the stuff each, but somehow you can't order a single bottle, packaged to the nth degree in the post?

While I'm at it, watches/batteries suffer the same sort of thinking, and yet Amazon shipped me my Armani watch no problem :?

Amazon won't ship battery banks to the island. I can't order wireless earbuds either, because the charging cases are basically battery banks. I can buy them from Currys or Argos, or Tesco etc.. what, do they magic them over the Solent?

I wish there were Bloodshot movie reviews so I could know whether to book a ticket or not... It'll hardly sell out, I just print the ticket off in work and like to plan ahead lol. That also applies to the rather sweet McFarlane figure they've made for the movie.

Apparently YouTube 'doesn't like it' when content creators mention that wee virus that's doing the rounds... Now wtf is that about?

I'm looking at videos for all the geeky crap I'm into and despite it being the subject, Corona doesn't get mentioned by name in the video's title or the video itself!

Is it to avoid the (ridiculous) risk of being demonitised?

I follow some channels that have been demonitised and cannot understand for the life of me why.
