An engineer claimed the tone-deaf twins, 18, had been given and unfair advantage in interviews with two tabloid newspapers.

'It is totally outrageous. It is cheating. The only time the sound levels on the mics were lifted was when they were rapping,' the source told the Daily Mirror.

'I am disgusted. A colleague was threatened with the sack. The twins have had backing vocals on all their live performances so far.

'The sound crew are told to turn their mics down so their vocals are mostly covered by the backing singers.'

They added: 'One of the crew refused as he said it was unfair on the other acts and pulling the wool over viewers' eyes.

'But he was told he would no longer have a job if he didn't follow instructions, so he bit his lip and got on with it.'

And in a claim in The Sun, a source said the microphones were lowered to a 'ridiculous level'

'Often mics are so low the twins' singing would be barely audible,' they said.

During their sing-off against Lucie Jones two weekends ago, the twins' performance of Robbie Williams' Rock DJ was obviously supported with backing vocals.

And the talentless tone deaf noise polluters are gone!

In a strange way its not going to be as entertaining with the twins gone.
