No spoilers but I must say that's probably the best race I've seen for a few seasons.

Well worth getting up to see and I'd recommend watching the rerun.

Agreed.

Absolutely stonking race!

+1 :D

Brilliant race, but I had to watch the BBC coverage and I'm not happy about it. Coulthard's partner needs to be turned down a bit (or buried in a shallow grave, which ever is easiest). A couple of other things annoyed me, such as a mistake with the championship standings post race (FOM had managed to show the correct figures minutes before), and the reporter interviewing Webber for the 1st time post race not asking him about his air time. Simple things but showing that the quality of the show has decreased.

Way to go BBC.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

They covered Webber's wheelie in the post race forum.

Ben Edwards is a little excitable, but at least seems like he's into it; and still a better bet than James Allen or Jonathon Legard. The standings table was a bit of a whoopsie, as was Jake forgetting to charge his iPad battery. I still thought the coverage was pretty good though.

Kimi hasn't changed one iota, in my opinion. He's still a p!ss-poor interviewee and was disinterestedly removing his racing overalls whilst talking - probably not something the sponsors will like, I suppose he was a bit upset at losing ten positions in the last couple of laps. Vettel was a little more pragmatic in his interview though. I was beginning to wonder if his happy go lucky attitude was only in evidence when he was comfortably winning - perhaps he's getting used to disappointment. ;)

For the first time in memory, I actually felt a little sorry for Schumacher when he had to retire. I wanted to see if he still had the ability with a competitive car underneath him.

Epic race though - especially the second half - with so much wheel to wheel action and position changes. It certainly tees up a great season in prospect, with three winners from three races. The only consistent driver is Lewis too, with three 3rd place finishes, who would have thought that? Mind you, hasn't Webber had three 4th place finishes?

I'm not convinced by Eddie's statement that Button's pit problem had no effect on the result. He lost around six seconds, so would have been 13 seconds behind Rosberg with a clear track in front of him, and a quarter of the race to go - something he seems to be pretty good at overcoming - so he might have caught him and pressured him into an error.

Wow, what a great race, and not the result I was expecting going into the weekend! Really pleased for Nico, I always felt it was only a matter of time before he got his first win, shame it took so long. Despite MacLaren's pit stop disaster, I don't believe Button would have been right on Nico's tail at the end, and the error did make for some good racing as he made his way through the snake of cars for 2nd place.

Kimi's shown he does still have the pace, but this is a valuable lesson that you now have to look after your tyres more than when he last raced in F1 - he'll learn from that and preserve them better next time.

I do miss Brundle's commentary on the BBC but I have to say DC has stepped up to the mark surprisingly well, along with Ben Edwards. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy Ben's style, but after his first rather-too-excitable race (which was understandable, it being his first F1 race), he seems to have settled down into a more relaxed, natural style. China was much better than the first two races and he seems to be gelling better with DC.

The weak point in the new team for me is Gary Anderson - but only because the BBC don't seem to be using him properly. We all know how knowledgeable he is about all aspects of F1, but so far the BBC haven't got the best out of him in the races - OK, the first two were highlights, so that's maybe a reason? He did contribute more on the F1 Forum yesterday, but in the race I think we only heard from him two or three times. And one of those, he wasn't there when DC/BE asked him for his opinion!! Why not use him more? Especially for technical features in the pre-shows for the live races - I can see him being a very good replacement for Brundle's techy pieces that he did last year.

The grid walk with DC and EJ was a bit shambolic - following Martin Brundle was always going to disappoint slightly, but I think they should either drop this altogether, or do it properly (i.e. without Eddie Jordon, maybe with Lee McKenzie?).

I think this season is building up to be a cracker, much less predictable without last year's Red Bull dominance. Can't wait for July now, I'll be at Silverstone! :P

I finally got my parents' sky login so I watched it on-line. Best race in a long time. Lotus really did balls it up for Kimi. Will Massa score a point in the next race? This might be his last season at Ferrari at this rate despite his accident

Nice to see the Williams back in the points

BBC broadcast just not the same as live. Not sure why but not right.

Don't think I'll bother

Well, I found a live stream on t'internet today, it was from Setanta Sports which ironically was showing the BBC coverage with DC and Ben Edwards live - sadly, the combination of highly compressed, poor quality video (640px) and constant buffering (despite my decent 12Mb connection) proved to be a frustrating experience.

In future, don't think I'll bother! ;-)

Decent race, though - once I viewed the BBC highlights later on.

There was no chance of me streaming or watching a live broadcast so I stuck my head in the sand, and waited patiently until I found and downloaded a torrent. I chose the sky option as I prefer that and have just finished watching.

Quite a few upsets and surprises. My biggest surprise is that Rosberg didn't get a penalty for driving Lewis and Alonso off the road. I'm sure he was driving with some arrogance from his previous win, and it will come back and bite him at some point. Alonso has already marked him for future action on twitter.

Mark Webber is the leading candidate to replace Ferrari's Felipe Massa. Although his contract with the Italian team is not signed yet, the Australian may have already established a preliminary agreement for joining them in 2013.

Hmm, well if that's true, then it really will be a case of "not bad for a second driver"
</famous quote>

Don't do it, Mark!! If you thought playing second fiddle to Vettel was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet. :(

On the other hand, I read this somewhere:

Quote:
Rob Smedley: Mark, Fernando is faster than you. Can you confirm you understand that message?

Mark Webber: Yep, got it mate. He'll be able to get past then, won't he?
