It's a portable device. It's meant to be carried around. Putting a kensington slot on it would be a waste of time, because only a blithering lunatic would think chaining it to something was a good idea. Jon

It's most common on portable things because people don't usually walk off with things that are not! There's one on my HP netbook and on my Toshiba laptop. It's just normal on anything over £100 and nickable.

Your phone has a kensington slot on it? The world's gone mad.

It has USB and a card slot. It also has a slot for securely attaching a charm or strap, which for a long time I did think was the mini equivalent of a k-slot because it's part of the steel chassis. I think there's a Kensington app for it though

I tried to download an 8 gig file and because I have a crappy 2-meg connection, I left it overnight. Ran out of space and so 2GB of it didn't download

I'm at a student hackathon this weekend and there is a 512kb connection for 50 people Someone tried to download a rather hefty ISO... it's still going over a day later and not even 50%, it finishes tonight!

Don't think I've ever seen a drive that didn't do both well anyway

It's for the DVD drive in my VW OEM satnav. Uber fussy. Won't play music CDs unless burned at 4x or less. Fussy about RW discs hence the need for +R and -R.

Adele on the Brits - you'd need to be tone deaf to think that girl can sing!

Asda's cut off point of 10pm for online orders. You actually have to put an order through before then even if you've booked the slot, that's more than £25, then go back and fill it out properly since you rushed it
