Shush. You'll be fine.
Try and treat her as a friend, okay yes, a very special friend, but don't pressure yourself too much, that way you'll not put too much pressure on the situation.

That geo game...

First guess was Orkney and I was near as damn it spot on. Not too hard though given Orkney isn't that big. What did surprise me is when guessing that the long dusty road was in the USA I was "only" 294KM off. Total = 16282 score map

The geo game reminds me of one of the tests that the clinical psychologists did on me for visual memory. I was to try and identify locations in photos then later if I had seen them before. Apparently I did very well on the actual locations.

Have you ever had that feeling where you want to punch somebody in the face, but no one nearby is a valid target?

Awesome game is awesome.

I scored some 5000 point, but my second answer was only 96 km from the actual location.

9947 its hard

Darn, bested. I got "You got 9419 points in total."

Would have helped if I'd cheated and taken note of the spoilers, but I guessed Africa for the one in Australia. I never saw a Sydney Opera House though. Maybe it's different each time? <edit: yes it is!>

I tried to play this before, but it doesn't seem to work on most of my browsers.

It does seem to take an unusual glee in plonking you down somewhere literally in the middle of nowhere. Quite why Google are streetmapping dirt roads in the outback God only knows, but apparently they are. I now know for certain that there are parts of Australia, Southern Africa and Central America that look to all intents and purposes identical, even down to the colour of the soil.

To be fair, it did also once drop me down in the car park of Aberdeen golf club. That one was a bit easier to find on the map  And next to a lighthouse on one of the Balearics that I will spend my entire future lottery winnings to live in, should I ever get any.

The trick is to wander around and find a sign post, then it becomes more like a private dick virtual reality game, as if you're looking for evidence at a crime scene, or like the scene in Blade Runner where he says "enhance" a lot..

It doesn't let you wonder around though, does it? I could only zoom / enhance / rotate and print.

I did get one sign that put me in a car park outside a jewellers on the Alaskan coast, but even then I managed to be 275km away because they had two branches :(

double click on the ground, it goes to that location, you can go round corners and go up to graffitti on the walls and [LIFTED].

Oh yeah, that helps a lot. Doesn't work on some browsers though:
"You missed with 0.16 km which gave 6466 points."
"You missed with 0.077 km which gave 6473 points."
"You missed with 0.007 km which gave 6479 points."

LMFA I got that one wrong. The address I found was "Korea Town, LA" but actually, it was Korea, Korea... "You missed with 9591.86 km which gave 556 points."

So, cheating gave me: "You got 19906 points in total."

Best so far: "You got 20654 points in total."

http://www.geoguessr.com?v=eyJ0b3RhbFBv ... w2NDc5XV19

Looks like max score is 6500.
