I failed my driving test the first time
Was gutted because between my first and second attempts the theory test came in so I had to sit it. It was extremely easy mind although I gather it's gotten harder over time.
Still, at least I've got a full compliment of normal codes (like what Heather has got) on my licence. My younger brothers licence is possitively spartan in comparison.

didnt ppl get "f*cked over" by the new rules? when you pass your test nowadays youre only allowed to drive a measly limit of up to 3.5tonnes

Yeah, my brother-in-law is only two years younger than me and despite having a license for a tractor and articulated trailer since the age of sixteen, he had to get a separate trailer test when he bought a trailer for his car a couple of years ago!

Out of interest, I'm guessing you all did it before the introduction of the hazard perception test?

I failed the Hazard Perception test twice.

Turned out I was clicking too early

I think it would be more difficult if instead of just clicking when you see the girl run towards to road, you have to headshot her. I'd still [LIFTED] ace the test.

How is it all the best email offers only arrive when you haven't checked them for a few days? :(

Tesco's flash drive prices:

A girl in work left it until the last minute to buy one for her son, that's how I found out about them... You can get a branded 8Gb stick delivered for £5 online!

So, I asked someone at work if they'd had a nice holiday.
They'd been down to visit their Mum to tell them they'd been diagnosed with cancer
Talk about putting your foot in it. Still, it sounds like it's been caught early so hopefully it will all work out.

No-one tells me nuffin' 'round 'ere.

So my main PC has been poorly for a while and I've been looking to get it a new PSU, then I managed to get a virus and decided to get a copy of Windows 7 rather than re-image with XP which I still love but can't handle the memory well. It's quite an expense so I was putting it off, especially since I want an SSD in it too.

Then my Media centre blows up totally. See the "Scrap For Sale" thread...

My personal server at work blows it's network port during a power cut which also blows the PSU on the very expensive router, despite both being behind a very expensive UPS. This on Friday night which meant I couldn't get any work done all weekend. Not that I had time anyway:

I've also managed to blow a chip I tried soldering into a piece of test equipment - not something I'd normally do with CMOS but the 14 pin DIL socket wasn't working and I was in a hurry.

Said test equipment was to trace an electrical fault with a kitchen light which needs fixing by last week at the latest.

And the car decided to blow it's coil pack.

They say it goes in threes. That's more than three already :x

I'm also being medically probed for various reasons. All in all this is a rubbish year so far!

Na, this is putting you foot in it:
Secretary - Lev, did you know Mark Dxxxxxx
Me - Past tense. Is he dead? (said in a jokey sort of way).
Secretary - Yes.

My mate: I'm leaving early today to take my mum to hospital.
His colleague: Oh [LIFTED], does she have AIDS?
My mate: No, cancer.

I have just had a support call from one user, who was having trouble getting Exchange working on their iPad. I suggested they bring it over to our office, where I can help (the wifi in various bits of the campus is very flakey, so I wanted to eliminate that possibility).

He replied that he couldn't do that, as the iPad was not portable.

'err.. pardon?'

Get this - his department had taken away his desktop PC and replaced it with an iPad. And then, they had glued a chain to the back of the iPad and locked the other end of the chain to his desk.

I am... flabbergasted.
