Out of interest, I'm guessing you all did it before the introduction of the hazard perception test?

When I first got to Oz they gave me a passport just on the basis of equivalence. However when I wanted to get a motorcycle licence they made me do a hazard perception test via a touchscreen interface. It took literally a few seconds and when I went back to the counter they asked if I was having difficulty, I pointed out that I had finished and they looked shocked. Passed with 100%.

The citizenship test was the same.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

That was the problem I had first time round. They've actually changed it recently so that you click for potential hazards and then click again when they change into an actual hazard. Seems more logical to me.

The theory part itself has always been a piece of piss though.

Horace failed his MOT yesterday. Looks like a weekend of grovelling around in the dirt under a car, in the freezing cold lies ahead! :?

Same here, I passed in 1995 and the theory test was introduced a year later.

Im only allowed to drive up to 32 tonnes in my liscense

this thread has reminded me of an awkward moment with my female driving instructor for car licsense years ago :(

me: "how come you look prettier than usual today?"

instructor " Its probably because I have washed my hair today, only wash it every second day to preserve the oils

me:

instructor: "when you get lessons from me, you coincidentally only learn from me on a non washing hair day"

I failed my driving test the first time
Was gutted because between my first and second attempts the theory test came in so I had to sit it. It was extremely easy mind although I gather it's gotten harder over time.
Still, at least I've got a full compliment of normal codes (like what Heather has got) on my licence. My younger brothers licence is possitively spartan in comparison.

HSBC grrrrr. I needed a new security token thingy as my last one went through the washing machine and didnt survive. rang up the number they gave me to ask for an activation code. They couldnt do that and had to go through the confirm my id.
No problem I though.. but because I couldnt remeber the exact amount I spent in sainsburys from 2 weeks ago although I could tell them the exact amount of the gas and leccy bill and all my standing orders and direct debits, they froze the telephone banking facility and I now have to go into the bank with photo id to confirm who I am.

Watching T4 this morning as the Simpsons were about to start. It started showing a scene where Homer is looking for beer and smashes Bart's piggy bank for cash. I thought it was a short clip before the adverts. It wasn't. They started airing the entire episode from that point! Came up as a "technical error" and they had to start from the beginning.
