Walked into town last night for beer and giggles with friends, was stopped by an old lady asking for directions. It was so cold last night her foot went into spasm so I called her a cab and sent her on her way, then at the end of the evening I ended up with a friend in A&E with damaged knee ligaments who'd lost her purse... so I stayed with her and shelled out for another taxi to get us home. I'm now skint until friday. Gorramn do-gooding costing me moneys...

Lost a new 16GB SDHC card with the first two acts from this evening on it. I'm beyond annoyed with myself. Will call the venue tomorrow in the vain hope someone's found it.

Hopefully karma from your two recent deeds will help out.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Cheers, thankfully (and unusually) the organisers had another photographer on so fingers crossed they'll have something to cover what I've lost.

I guess that's why pro photographers often have assistants with them. Not much help, I know, but there you go.

When I'm shooting one of these things, I've now started to put a small bag on my belt for a second lens, and leave the big bag somewhere safe (in the dressing room last night - it appears to have been rolled in glitter now ) which means I couldn't easily get to it to ditch the used cards. So I was just dropping them into my jeans pocket as I filled them. Should've used the zipped pockets on the small bag. Damn thing must have fallen out of my pocket when I checked my phone, I guess. Just typical I'd lose that one instead of one of the 2 cards that I didn't shoot on. Lesson learnt!

You'd think someone would have noticed this when they put the mags into the display. Or maybe they did?

Having to throw out half a packet of Rolos cos they're so mangled inside that extracting the foil off them is pointless...

I hate that with soft-centred chocolates. I have in the past eaten a molten and squished mars bar by snipping a corner of the packet and pushing the chocolate through. A bit like those fruit tube yoghurt things I guess. Or toothpaste but without ingesting it.

I've decided to make full use of the free Danish tuition offered to Aliens, after all with the taxes they charge here I'm going to make sure I get value for money.
Anyway, I've applied to the local language school and have just received a letter from them requesting me to attend an interview, so they can see at what level of instruction I should be entered when courses start in the new year. In this invitation they have mentioned that I can bring along an interpreter.
