Yes, of course they are, but did you see it? There's a big difference between laughing with disabled people and laughing at disabled people - and I feel this went into the latter category. For example, one of these "sketches" duped an able-bodied person into standing in a line-up for an identity parade with 3 people with cerebral palsy - they were asked to say a line and the first time the able-bodied person did it in his normal manner and speech. Then one of the others coerced him into saying it in the same way they were doing it, complete with posture and movements. I just thought this was incredibly offensive to cerebral palsy sufferers and not what we should be broadcasting in the name of light entertainment. I'm all for changing attitudes to disabilities and breaking down sterotypes, but this programme seemed to be doing the opposite to that, and at the participants' expense. Channel 4 will probably say this is "edgy comedy", but I just found it highly offensive and degrading. I think you'd have to see the programme to understand my objections to it.

Everything is dubbed here. There are no English channels, apart from CNN, BBC World News and Sky News... The bit with the taxi driver, I had worked that out long before they even went to the restaurant. The nicotine patches were just too stupid for words, although I doubt they would allow him to shoot up or smoke opium these days... Then there was the whole tracking the mobile phone thing. I did think Martin Freeman was good as Watson, although he wasn't really portly enough. I still prefer Jeremy Brett or Basil Rathbone as Holmes though. In the new series, Holmes aloofness isn't there, just a strong arrogance. Also, all the writing on the screen and the maps to show where they are running etc. I just felt that it was too dumbed down. A few years ago, you would have had the mad chase over the roof top and through the buildings, with the occasional glimpse of the taxi and you would have had to think about the map yourself. I like a murder mystery where I need to think a bit as well. I like to come to the conclusion the detective comes to about 30 seconds before he gets there. The problem with a lot of modern series is, they lay out so much of the case with unneeded extra information for the viewer, that you usually have it solved before the detective has walked through the door.

I remember reading about it a while back on Marty's homepage.
It's a shame about JMV - not only did he become an alcholic, he was entirely derogatory towards Airwolf in its aftermath. Maybe he had issues with the show and that left him bitter? It was the show that shot him to stardom and is when his alcoholism started. The first two seasons were great. I hated it when Caitlin came in and suddenly they started rescuing pet dogs and the like (ie used for personal missions) rather than for military purposes. I loved Ernest Borgnine - he was always very charismatic in the show. I loved some of the girls that Archangel had on his arm. I think my fave would have been the blonde in "One Way Express".

You're clearly a lot smarter than me Dave. Get back to us when you've seen the second season finale. I'd love to hear your take on that!

A great opportunity with some good names already in there. I think if they throw some good money behind it then it will have a chance to be a big success as with BSG.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I really hope it's not messed up, and as with BSG, I hope the main ship is retained. Mark
