I love guns. Some of them are absolutely beautiful pieces of engineering from all different eras. My dad would probably have quite a collection of old guns by now, but since the laws changed he's had to give them up. Apparently an antique flint lock in pristine firing condition is classed as a short muzzled shot gun, or something equally daft.

A friend of mine has just started shooting, he has a 9mm in his office cupboard! I hope he gets a gun locker, before the Ordnungsamt come round and do a spot check! I know somebody else with a live AK-47 in his attic... :?

In other news, I spent half of today surrounded my Mac Users and talking to a Mac support engineer. I got to touch his shiny Mac Book Pro. It was my first time

I was playing with one yesterday as well... Looking at a new laptop, but the refresh didn't bring anything for me. :( Looking at a Sony Vaio at the moment as my next machine. A shame, I really want a MBP with OS X, but OS X isn't worth the 130% price increase over the Sony, for a lesser specification. :(

As I had to work through the night to meet a Friday morning deadline I thought I'd just have a quick nap until lunchtime and then get back to work. This is one of the (few) benefits of working from home. Overslept until 4:30 ( :!: ) and upon checking email discover a few emails asking for urgent amendments that had been sent over the past couple of hours. I've just had one of the most frantic 60 mins of my so-called career....I think I'll go back to bed.

Picked up the IROC from having a service, some new tyres on the back, the steering sorted and having the catalytic convertor removed.
She was a bit pokey before, but now the exhaust's crackling at 3500rpm. Sounds ungodly. And she picks up bit better now as well.
This winter's going to be fun in the wet.

It's popping and farting because it's more or less straight through now. I'd be doing away with an exhaust system altogether and running straight headers out through the front fender things. :)

The car has just been in for it's 100,000 mile service today.
Where do all the miles go?

That would be awesome, and were she a drag car I'd think about it, but it's not a recipe for
a.) happy neighbours.
b.) happy police people.
c.) long service intervals.

She'd also need chopping about quite a bit, but you could probably talk me into a set of lake pipes...

I would almost go so far as saying stick some old tyres on the back and get your hand in on a skidpan. I'm still learning to control the Landy in a slide, and that's a gutless 2.25l engine with huge huge tyres. I don't envy you in winter. :-/

God knows. I've had my car for just over two years (Or is it three?) and I'm a student, so I should be doing relatively low milage. That said, I got it on 79.5k and she's now on 104.5k :-/

Apparently my MOT is due in August, and I'm expecting the catalytic converter to fail dismally.. It's rattling like hell and there's an interesting feathery sound every time I give it a hoof-full of throttle. Think it's coming apart from the inside, which is a bitch since I've already had the mid and rear boxes changed.

Cats. Who needs them? :x

If it's an old car why not replace it with one from a scrap yard? Not a perfect solution by any means but no doubt a lot cheaper, and as it's all under body shouldnt be too hard to fix

What vintage is your car? You may be able to get away with a de-cat if it's registered pre-92, IRC.
