My MAcBook Pro which last weekend succumbed to the GPU failure problem, and is in my opinion subject to this recall and repair. https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/Basically, I did something very silly. I tried to watch a stereoscopic video on YouTube. That kicked in the discreet GPU and the screen went dead. When I shut it down and rebooted, the display was all messed up, and it’s stayed that way since. So I took it to my local Apple service shop, and they are looking into it. Apparently, they have to run a test to see if it qualifies. Good luck with that - the screen’s so scrambled that you can’t tell what’s going on. I’ve not heard from them yet, so I am assuming that it failed the test, so qualifies for the recall repair and that’s underway.

Did it work with an external display, or is that messed up as well? (Just wondering, based on the having to run a test)
Otherwise it might be hardware diagnostics and you don't need to be able to read info on the screen.

Tbh i've been ready to settle down and have a family at least mentally/emotionally for a few years. Around the time said sister got married. But it's taken me a while to find someone and right now whereas i'm ready, the missus isn't.

If kids really matter to you, you should discuss it with her before the wedding. She may never be ready, or by that point of could not work out.

As I hadn't heard, I went and asked. It failed the test after a few attempts to get it to run it. As it's the GPU at fault, it's not easy to do - they had to guess where the buttons were in the screen. Anyway, his means that the repair is on Apple, so the parts have been ordered and they'll fix it when they arrive. So a while longer to wait, and I should, get it back.

Just smashed my first 90 days weight loss target. 20.5 kg since Jan 4th.
Just ate a huge breakfast, I am going to eat my easter egg today (and 3 chocolate bars) and then phase 2 starts tomorrow with 10kg more to lose as soon as possible, but definitely in 90 days.
