But have you got a TV signal? ;)
I don't even have a TV here.
The house we are renting has the areial in the loft, so we can pretty much always get a Freeview signal.
Bring your TV ariel indoors. (8+p

My house is so sh1t that the pipes that run by the doors block wi-fi and if you so much as leave a window open an inch in this weather you create a full-on air corridor. In the entire house.

My family - which seems to have become the Militant wing of the Vegan Marketing Board. Or at least my sister and my mum have - there’s a skill in turning any conversation into either one about vegan food/cafes or dropping names of people they know who are vegans (hey, look, we know other people who are fussy eaters too).

Just start dropping names, like Hitler?

My sister is pescetarian and coeliac so is gluten-free but she doesn't say anything unless you specifically ask. But for some reason, one of my cousins is vegan and just constantly talks about it.

It's a moral superiority thing IMHO - I've made this choice and (I feel) it makes me better than you so I've got to tell you all about it all the time. :?

They do do it properly. I have nothing against the food (though please stop calling vegan cheesecake cheesecake as there is no cheese involved). It's the evangelism of it to the point of alienation.

The planned upgrades to this iMac.
Samsung EVO 500GB SSD and the optical drive replacement caddy just arrived, I have TIM surface cleaner and prep, the new i7 is waiting at the sorting office... and the TIM itself won't be here until the 30th.

Let me know how you get on with the SSD swap.
I'm thinking of doing that to speed up my 2009 imac

Everything's here, looks like I've got time tomorrow to be getting into this now.
No great rush, I'll take my time and fingers crossed nothing will go ping and the smoke stays in the wires.

Just wondering about configuring the SSD/HD combo.
There's a bit about getting the OS to see them as a single drive, sort of a fusion drive hack, but I *think* I'm just going to do a clean install, enable TRIM and do a fresh build of my apps etc.
That'll leave the HD to be cleared of the existing apps (I'll leave an OS on for redundancy), music, documents etc. and use it as a scratch disk.

Because it's Christmassy and round so fits in with other BBC One idents.
And possibly the Sprout Marketing Board is holding the DG's family hostage.

Watching HIGNFY

From 1992, with Peter Cook and Douglas Adams. Started watching for the guests, kept watching for the eery predictions they have about Charles and Diana breaking up. Makes you realise how much history happened between then and now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_ieICHDNXA

And an extra bonus of spotting how many jokes they make they wouldn't be able to say now: Arab, Irish and Welsh comments in particular.

Mary Whitehouse just didn't have Twitter.

Loving this, and yeah, the lawyers in the gallery would have a fit.
