MPs have always been corrupt and will always be so its just a matter of choosing the least corrupt party of MPs to govern over you …
isn't this meant to be in the news section ? [/wink] …

Only he's still an MP. He's just resigned from being an unpaid aide...

True. It remains to be seen how many will fall on their swords once their local party and constituents make their feelings known.

Cameron has to make an example, this may just be the example he is looking for but that is a wait and see issue or a money where your mouth is issue and not in the too distant future is the EU and local elections UKIP for me in the EU ones as of the local 'who cares' they are all the same … edit i am not anti euro we either sign up fully to the EU in everything or we get out of the EU in everything except trade the mish mash that we have has lasted too long …

If only it was stated that stealing from the public purse ( fiddling expenses in this case ) was illegal then we would potentially see many of our MP's in prison. Now wouldn't that be fun

You know what the question I want the party leaders asked?
"Several of the MPs in your party have now come out and admitted that there were 'mistakes' in their expenses claims. Can you tell us how many MPs in your party have made 'mistakes' which meant they were paid less than they should have been in expenses?"
I'm fed up of this lot claiming stuff is 'mistake' and saying they'll pay it back. It's treating the public like idiots. If I fiddled the public purse and said the same when I got caught, I'd still end up in from of the beak. It's not a mistake. You don't make a 'mistake' that means you get paid 800 quid a month more than you should for 18 months and not notice it. In fact, if you did fail to notice it, you're plainly not intellectually capable of the job of MP and should resign anyway.

Channel 4 news at 7 last night was interesting invited audience and 3 senior MPs and there as agreement that is fraud was evident in the claims it should be handed to the Police. End of. So we might yet see a few being done for fraud

Claiming £800 a month for your mortgage when you know you've paid it off is not an administrative mistake or error or whatever other feeble excuse they want to use. It is fraud and they should be prosecuted as any other member of the public would be.
