Frankly, that's the feeling you have to get rid of. Once you manage that, the rest will seem utterly irrelevant.

Thinking about it, and I know that I suggested the usb stick, you could always copy the data to dvd. Four discs would cost next to nothing, (I've always got a couple of dozen lying around, just in case) and that would allow you to bring this unfortunate period a step closer to being in the past, where it belongs.

I'm burning them now. I'll drop them with her tomorrow.

Ah but that's the trick isn't it? Someone that made me smile and laugh, made me feel better about myself and that I thought had feelings towards me isn't in my life any more. Not my first time at this rodeo.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying it's an easy thing and you have my sympathy. But the sooner you get started...

Alex, this is probably no help at all, but I'm sure you realise that there are many people on here who are only a PM away of you need to talk in confidence.

Also good choice with the DVDs.

Thinking of my dad, who we lost suddenly a year ago today. Can't believe it's been a year already. :-(

Rather than spend the day stuck indoors thinking of him, my sister, niece and I took my mum out for the day to take our minds off things. We had a good day, one that I think he would have enjoyed had he still been with us - and I felt he was with us at times. Silly really, it's just another day like any other, but this is the last anniversary event that we need to get through - we've had the first Christmas, the first birthday - and in a way it feels like we can start to move on in our lives. Never forget, but move on. And I think that's an important step.

It may be the wine talking, but I really feel he was with us today. RIP, big fella, still missing you.

You never forget, Steve.

It just gets easier to remember.

A house. More specifically, this house:

Agency listing:
http://www.orpi.com/agencepaul/annonce- ... 2KS8D.html

Google Maps:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@44.66705 ... A0uv-Q!2e0

I've been driving past it a few days per week on my way to work, and have become absolutely smitten with it, which is quite unlike me. I'm now trying to work out some level of business plan that might allow me to raise the money required to acquire and renovate the place. I've a fair knowledge of working on houses, and I've a very good friend out here with even more, so there's a reasonable skill set in place.

I know the Wench has long wanted to run residential arts and crafts courses, which would certainly work well in a place like that, which is my best idea so far, as well as perhaps converting and either renting or then selling off some of the out buildings.

I have lost both my parents and it's true they are always with you. I constantly have conversations with them in my head.

Time is a great healer.

Sorry for your loss

Those conifers would have to go.

I have a chainsaw licence...

So do I :D

Frankly, removing a few of the conifers is going to be the least of the jobs required on that place!
