Any mention of the use of tasers or tranquilliser darts? Or is it call the police armed response team?
Jesus Christ she's not an armed terrorist.
Okay, so she's autistic, which means a little care in approaching her, but for crying out loud, tasers?!?

Mark

Some can be very violent. Autism affects a person’s ability to empathise with or determine the intent of other people. I doubt the tasers would be used, but several burley police officers with the skills in subduing violent people may do less damage to her than several less burley untrained people.

General rule of thumb is:

If there's an extra word you have to use in front of the word people or person then no.

Unless of course they are normal and we're all not (present company exempted)

Everybody thinks they're the only normal one, but they are generally able to empathise with other people and understand why they do the weird things they do. With aspergers, I guess that's not so easy to do.

Interrsting statistic: if you work in IT, your offspring are more likely to be autistic.

Turns out the Police had stated upon arrival that they'd give the carers half an hour, beyond that it was taser time.

I wonder if I'm an asperger person. I'm pretty damned sure I'm the only sane person on the planet :?

It just goes to show that the police didn't have a clue how to handle the situation properly.
Was there any body else's safety in immediate danger, Alex?

Only the carers and members of staff that were nearby. And the Police, I suppose. There were only two of them.
