The last bakery (locally) selling bread made from wheat flour has succumbed to "lets make dust and call it bread" revolution. Not happy.

My phone has been going mental today. Constant notifications because one of my photos made it to Flickr Explore. That bit I'm happy about but my god the phone. Even on silent it just vibrates at me.

As I posted in the FPOTD thread, we went looking at new cars today.

Amazing how different modern engines are! My wife has a 1.2L Micra from the early 2000s and we test drove the Juke, Qashqai and Pulsar with 1.2L engine, no comparison! The new engines are smooth and have a decent amount of power (obviously the turbo helps as well).

We also went to other dealerships. So many cars are hard to get into.

I have real problems with Peugeot, VW, Skoda and Audi. All of them have raked back windscreens and relatively low roof lines. I nearly brain myself getting into them, because I have to bend almost double (or at least my head on to my chest) to get through the opening. So they all fell off the short list!

I quite like the quircky Citroen Cactus, but it lacks a 6th gear (and that is something I miss with my current C3). The same for the C4 Picasso.

We looked at the Fords (Kuga, Focus and C-Max), but they felt too cramped and, although the dash and controls themselves aren't bad, you have a lot of space between the dash and the windscreen, likewise the centre console stretches into the cabin, because it is so sloped.

The Cactus is fun to drive, as is the Juke, although the former is a bit "basic" and the latter is quircky, but the sloped back means that although the boot is fairly deep, you lose a lot of height towards the back.

At the moment, the favourites are the Pulsar and the Qashqai...

Same here. I occasionally brain myself getting into cars.
It's not like there's a shortage of 6 foot plus people these days but much of the car industry doesn't appear to care that much.

My wife hit her head getting into the 3008, and she is only about 5'6"!

My Life as Mr Bean, part one:

Having done a little shopping at Sainsburys this morning, I opened the car's front passenger door and put my bag on the seat. I placed a watermelon on the bag which promptly slipped off onto the handbrake, releasing it and sending the car slowly backwards out of its parking space. I was so surprised it took me a couple of seconds to realise what was happening and reach in to reapply the handbrake by which time the car was nearly out into the car park itself. I hope no-one saw all this, the car park was very busy. I hope it's not been captured on CCTV either.

Since the Bean role is still occupied, I'd get practicing your 'Ooh, Betty!'.

Didn't that also get a resurrection quite recently, with the original cast? For Comic Relief? The only part of it I actually remember is Gemma Arterton in cycling shorts.
