Just caught up with series 7 of Curb Your Enthusiasm and overall.....it's terrible. A real disappointment as Curb is one of the very few shows that makes me laugh. Thank God that J.B. Smoove is still there to tear things up in his inimitable way. :)

Really? Good show. 3 is just back off haitus in the US but I don't know if Watch are still showing it. I'm seriously considering getting the BluRays of 1+2 from Australia, since they'll play fine on a UK BluRay player but there seems no sign of an actual bluRay release in the UK. 3 is up as a series to subscribe to in iTunes but it's only SD...

You seen the state of Sky lately?
There are a few rare gems nestling amongst it's fat lardy arse though.

No, I mean actually watching TV in America.
It's all adverts at silly times or news items with left wing and right wing politicians ranting at each other.
There are 40 channels on the TV in my hotel room and most of them are crap. Even the ones that are usually good in the UK (eg Discovery) are crap here. It's been showing Deadliest Catch none stop for three days, which some episodes repeated every couple of hours.
It's impossible to sit down in the evening and watch a couple of entertaining TV.

If I was visiting a different country the very last thing I would be doing is watching TV.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

No hire car and there's nothing within walking distance.
At work most of the day so I only have the evenings anyway.

Why shouldn't I laugh? People take things far too seriously.

Precisely. Being able to laugh at such things makes living worthwhile.
