What I do is wait to see what happens in the practice sessions then pick before qualifying and get the bonus points.

That would be the more sensible way of doing it

Bit of a poor show on the x404 F1 Guru Prediction competition. Come on people follow Edds link above and let’s have a bit of fun.

Is it just me or do Maclaren appear to be quietly confident? I have no doubt RB will be competitive right from the start but I do think (unless hope is over riding) Maclaren are going to have a much better start than last year.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

It seems Mercedes have come up with a very clever system. When they open the rear wing for DRS, they can stall the front wing by channelling the air through the car from the back.

Not with the double DRS zone though They've maximised the advantage given to them by it. It's a sensible move. Last year almost ALL of the overtaking was either in or immediatley after the DRS zone. If you can increase your DRS advantage over the other teams then you're probably going to get a better chance of being near the front.

** DON"T WORRY, I"M NOT GOING TO REVEAL THE RESULT OF QUALIFYING! ** Turned on the TV this morning and BBC 1 was the channel that first appeared - before I could turn it over, up popped the sports presenter and blabbed the results of F1 Qualifying!!! Not even a warning first, what a tit! Thanks a f'king bunch BBC, that's really appreciated! </sarcasm> No point watch the highlights now, I can't begin to tell you how annoyed and angry I am right now!!! A snotty email has already been sent to BBC Breakfast, along with a strongly worded tweet. Oh, well, I can go and do something else this afternoon now.

Once I clicked on a BBC news icon rather than one for iplayer when I wanted to watch a GP, and was rightly pissed off when the main headline was the result. FFS you've got a sports section so put all sport in there.

Same happened to me, they blurted out the result before I had a chance to switch over.
I watched the highlights show anyway and as expected it's just not the same, or as exciting, as a full show. I'm still watching on the BBC though as SKY isn't an option.
I also hate the look of the new cars for the most part with their stepped noses.

Bugger. I was able to watch qualifying yesterday without any hitches but the internet at this campsite is acting up this morning and I can't see sh!t. Even posting this message is a tortuous affair. We're visiting the gf's father this arvo so I'm hoping to aquire the show by other means, and of course put on the blinkers.
As a quick test to myself I am pushing the submit button at 07:16.

I didn't know it at the time but that is what Maldonado's sponsors paid for his seat at Williams.

I assumed it was for sponsorship.
