I'm currently watching Californifaction on Netflix, and I think it's a S6 episode where there's a proposed remake of the William Friedkin film Cruising, just because they can (and they have to keep an openly gay actor creatively engaged).
This remake seems just like that fictional one.
Where's the actual demand for this film to be remade? Who actually wants this film to be remade?

Might be a use it or lose it thing, but I wouldn't rule out 'go get me that list of stuff we own again' either. Also, apparently Hollywood recently realised that minority groups go to the movies, and it's a film with that vibe.
