I know no one in here knows the missus ( http://www.facebook.com/people/Nicola-S ... /517326436) but she's doing the Race for Life this year. Its the first time she's doing it and its special meaning for me being as two months ago my boss lost his fight with cancer (ok, so normally you'd wish it on a boss but he was a top bloke - http://www.johnwiddowson.com/buttersideup). If anyone wants to sponsor £2 then the link is on my sig.

Ok, if you were jealous before....it was definitely worth $100 (to me anyway). We saw some amazing stuff and some real great sportsmen (and women) there. The highlight of the show was seeing an FMX double backflip - pulled off for the first time outside of America and by only the 3rd person to ever attempt the trick. (IIRC) Good write-up here.

I was in Currys looking at TVs last night and just for a giggle asked the little helper if I could try the 3D TV and 3D Blu-Ray combo, (I say just for a giggle because 3D doesn't work with my dodgy eye) but I put on the glasses, which cost about £100 each and it actually worked! I could see stuff in 3D ! Pity that the 40" set cost about £1,400. I didn't bother finding out how much the Blu-Ray player cost, but £100 for one, yes ONE pair of glasses...? I'll give it a miss for now but it's good to know that one day, when prices come down a bit, (a lot) I might actually be able to watch 3D stuff!

Just received an email: So, from on the floor of the auditorium up to somewhere in the upper tears and right to the side of the stage. Seriously not a happy bunny as from a music perspective that's going to be complete and utter [LIFTED]. We've got two lots of tickets for the stag do, need to see if the other 6 have been moved as well or not, and then ring to kick up a stink, as that's a substantially worse seat than the one I bought.

Thinking about it I might have been better putting my Apollo 11 thread in the Meeting Place, so for those of you who don't visit the photography forum here's the link to a really good thread! viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8183
