Why do they keep making remakes of remakes of remakes?

I want to see original films. I have the originals, or I have seen them, I don't want to watch another interpretation.

Depends on the film for me. As a general rule, remaking or even rebooting films from the 80's and early 90's is a very bad idea. They're often lightning in a bottle. But that doesn't always extend to franchises they ran into the ground originally - I'll always be interested in reboots of Highlander, the Crow, Robocop, Batman, Turtles... because the characters are just that good. The real skill is finding someone who knows what to keep and what to update. That's not Michael Bay

And I'm sick to death of watching the origin of Batman and Spiderman, for example. I know the story, I want it to go further.

The same with Star Trek.

I've saw all the Highlander films so I'm more than happy for a reboot!

The new Batman and Spider-Man films apparently won't have origin stories.
