The UKTVPlay app, on FireTV at least.
Took two gos for it to get to the end of the ads (before the program even started) and then it dumped me back at the home screen. When it did get through the ads it just froze before the program started.
First one star review I've ever posted on Amazon (and if they let you give zero I would have)

On the plus side, as it was something on Dave I wanted to watch I doubt I'll have to wait for it to be repeated on the actual telly but the app is pure [LIFTED].

The same with the ARD (German state TV) app, which crashes constantly at the moment or the sound stops - well, since the last FireTV update, I have had to restart the FireTV at least once a day, usually the sound stops working or it complains that there is an error with the DRM.

i also regularly get a problem where everybody starts lisping and that requires a restart as well.

Well, that's not terribly reassuring. Do you know when the update was rolled out. I haven't noticed any of those issues so far but the last thing I watched was int he Youtube app.

Yep, that can be bad! Word learnt to output HTML in the late 90s and I don't think the programmer knew much about it and I don't think they've updated it much since.

Today, I nominate Essex Record Office who, in their infinite wisdom, posted HALF of a stereo photos of one of the downed Zeppelins from WWI

Fascinating to see, but why chop off half the image?

ilounge.com. They've installed some ad blocker detection code in their landing page. The result looks like this...

Now I dunno, d'you think this is the kind of high quality internet journalism I should be making an exception for, or not?

From memory there are fairly large signs in the Eurostar section of the station prohibiting the carriage of various historical munitions.

Had a letter from my Building Society this morning. They're changing the name of my savings account, and in the process dropping the interest rate from 2% to 0.25%. Yes folks, that's one quarter of one percent. with inflation (depending on who you ask) running at somewhere between 2% and 4%, what on earth is the incentive to save money when they're basically charging you to do so. The hilarious thing is the letter tries to sell this as an improvement in the service they're offering me.

(aside ; Whenever I start a sentence with ' I had a letter from..' I have a great desire to end the sentence 'I opened and read it, it said they were suckers'. I think this is partly because I used to listen to Public Enemy too much - although, heretically, I actually prefer the Tricky cover version of that song - and partly because most letters I get these days tend to operate on the assumption that I'm an idiot)

There's no point saving money. You need to find something to invest in. One of my friends collects limited edition vodkas and another rolex watches and classic cars.
