We had our first customer with Teslacrypt today.

They phoned up, wanting to know what we had done to their system. Nothing, they had downloaded some ransomware, which had encrypted all their files!

I marvel at our IT department sometimes, I really do.
So, server software needs updated (in fact the software vendor seems to have used the phrase 'recipe for disaster' about the way it had been installed). First step is uninstall the software as they apparently want to do a clean install so it's all configured correctly. That bit I can get.
Shame they didn't tell me this was going to happen until I phoned up to find out why my connection to the database suddenly went dead while I was editing a record.
Oh, and they need vendor tech support to work through the installation with them so it may not (or more likely definitely won't be) be sorted until tomorrow.

To quote a certain film franchise... I have a bad feeling about this.

Madonna pulls down fan's top onstage in Brisbane in bizarre move | Music | The Guardian

Where do you start? That Madge is still that desperate, or that the fan thinks it's somehow an honour?

Madge may indeed be a bit unhinged at times. I was however heartened by this bit from the fan:

Quote:
Only I get to decide if I’m humiliated or not. Why would people assume I am humiliated by my own breast, nipple or body?

That's very true, but your average person isn't gonna want that 'experience', and especially not in the internet age. Madge shouldn't have done it full stop.

There was some suggestion that the "fan" was planted.

That thought had certainly crossed my mind, we're talking about a woman who waved around a plastic AK-47 in the Middle East... And like I said, she's been desperate for attention for years now.

The Tories, still living in another era. Or at least thinking that everyone else does.

Nothing wrong with Essex. It's particularly beautiful from a hot air ballon. Loads of wild life.

Hope you remembered your passport lol

A man deleted his entire company with a single line of mistaken code

A failure to understand the 3-2-1 backup principle perhaps?

In any case that's a rather spectacular balls-up.
