Just had a friendly discussion with the mattress deliverer who had blocked me into my work's car park after work. Quite deliberately. When I went up to him to ask him nicely if he would mind moving his van 3 feet so I could get past, he completely ignored me and walked off into his warehouse.
So I asked his colleague (still politely) if he would mind moving the van 3 feet so i could get passed.
He said "you'll have to ask him".
So I said "well, he's just ignored me, so will you have a word with him?"
Second guy states the truth which is that they are deliberately not moving because "it is their land". I advised him that it is also our land, and notified him that "I work here... and unlike you who arrived two minutes ago, I have been here all day, and now I want to go home, so kindly get you van shifted"
At this point I was looking forward to one of them taking the physical route, because I would have knocked both of them very much out, with pleasure.
The first guy comes back and asks me to move so he can shut his shutters.
Respectfully moving I commented "oh, are you talking to me now?" Again hoping for some sort of physical response, but alas none was forthcoming.
They then proceeded to shut their shutters and look as if they were moving, so I returned to my car and patiently waited. They sat in their little van ignoring me for 5 minutes, doing nothing.
I then advised them to stop being ignorant and get to get the [LIFTED] out of my way.
Cue opening of door and walking towards my car (finally! I thought) So i get out awaiting what he had to say. I explain to him that he should get back into his van right this instant because I do not react well to people trapping me in somewhere and ignoring me, and he stated that "oh it's your work's fault for not talking to us (backing down).
I explained "I don't actually give a [LIFTED] how my work act, you are now talking to me and you are dealing with me, how are you going to deal with this situation?"
"Ok, he said, and returned to his vehicle."
HIs decision at that point probably means I still have a job to go to tomorrow. (by this point all my managers were watching)
