Looking at getting that for my mum's Christmas present. However the price difference for a slightly higher resolution screen is a bit steep. In going to show her my Paperwhite this weekend. If it's not too blocky for her, then it's a Paperwhite she'll be getting.

Yeah, I know it's a rip-off in reality, but the flush screen and fact I'll use my old one in work combined with curiosity swung it

Yeah, that really wasn't playing nice, was it?

Having said that, I'd already guessed who Missy was. No spoilers from me ;)

Jesus fcuk, when are websites gonna sort out their mobile device access? I appreciate there's a lot of compatibility issues there, but that's no excuse when it just plain doesn't work no matter what browser or tablet you use.

I haven't had any problems. What version are you using?

If it was an Android app, I would suggest clearing the cache and clearing the data, but I'm not sure what the Microsoft equivalent is. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the app?

Go to demo a piece of kit to a student.
Piece of kit is missing.
Go to get big box of spares for said piece of kit, because I could cobble enough together to demo what I needed to.
Box is missing.
There is no reason for the entire box to be missing.
Ask colleague "Why is box missing from space on shelf? Where could box have gone?"
Colleague replies "I don't know. Such is a mystery."
"But why," I press further, "Why is box not on the shelf? There is no reason for box to have gone, and you yourself have been tidying shelves and now say you know not where box has gone?"
"I am not the only one who works in this room."
"Indeed, but you're the only full time member of staff that's here every day of the week, the only constant in the tides, and perhaps you should be taking your [LIFTED] job a mite more seriously. What are you covering up?" I thought.

It's the petty things that build up to the point where I'm bring a scythe to work to end people that piss me off.
The big things you just deal with. The small things accumulate like karmic dandruff.

New version arrived today. I'll see if that is any better.

Grr! Bloody credit card company! Tried ordering my new tablet, card fraud warning pops up.

Call the hotline, they "release" the card. I try 4 more times to make the purchase, hangs in Firefox.

Switch to IE, it goes through the processing screen, then comes back that there is a problem.

In the meantime I purchase the accessories on Amazon, no problems.

Try again, still won't work. So I ended up buying the tablet from Microsoft and the keyboard from Amazon, which worked out 60€ more expensive than the "Starter Kit" on notebooksbilliger.de...

I've been in similar situations, to the point of it being quicker and less frustrating to have just gone to Argos or somewhere.

That's the problem. None of the stores over here take credit cards and I want to use my British CC, because I am paying for it from my British savings.

Still, all's well that ends well. Surface Pro 3 i5/256 on its way.
