I'm an Apple (Mac) user but by God I hate this Apple events. "We've come up with a new way to pay. We call it Apple Pay." APPLAUSE ERUPTS EVERYWHERE.

Huh? They haven't showed you anything yet. They've only told you the friggin' name! What are you clapping for?

My [LIFTED] work shy colleague.
Spent most of the day picking up jobs that he should have done last month. There's still an item on the worktop that should've gone back to Amazon 6 weeks ago.
Chucked loads in to the skip that should've been done over the summer.
Tomorrows photo class won't be in the studio, because he hasn't organised getting it cleaned and cleared of the items that were being stored in it.

And from the 22nd, I'll be doing two 12 hour days at work a week, although 3 hours of that is training I suppose.
As we're supposed to be on an austerity budget, I've a good idea where we can save about £20k a year.
I think I need a word with the guvnor.

If you need anyone to replace said workshy colleague, I'd like to put myself forward for the position, should it ever become available. (8+)

Dude you'll be first to know if it's available. It would be a pleasure.

While we're on the subject of new jobs, I am now desperate to get out of here, to the extent that I need to have a... full and frank conversation... with Mrs V. tonight, about possibly going back into contracting for a while, to get some "current industry experience", as many managers seem to labour under the impression that as soon as you stop working in I.T you forget everything you've learnt over the last 25 years.

I really am sick of being treated like a mug by my current employers. They are, frankly, taking the p1ss.

Know the feeling, had a fairly decent chat last night with the CEO at length about some of the work habits that are putting others under silly amounts of stress/work due to them being incapable of doing their job properly and passing the buck when stuff goes wrong.

do talk about it. I think if you should you care for the sanity of the business, employers will respect you more.

I try to more often, but when the main culprit is in his office more time than he's at his desk covering his back it's a case of picking the battles.

Considering we've got a department meeting with him tomorrow first thing to agree work for next week it should be at least some progress in the right direction, otherwise once I've moved house I'll be looking to move jobs

And after returning it's gone again. And Phoenix Gas are outside making a racket while I'm trying to write something. Ready for murder at this point...

Great. Just been informed that there are going to be learning walks taken place at work next week. So, yet again, there's a good chance that I'm going to be observed with a class that I've never even met before.

I really need to invent some new swear words, as the existing ones don't begin to convey my current feelings!

Nope. Not even close. In fact, I'd say that they are relatively complimentary.
