I just learned that my Dad was no electrician.

2½ hours just to replace a bloody ceiling switch. Who connects one half of the switched live directly to the live? Seriously!?!?

"Hmm..... why is this light always on?"

If he wasn't dead I'd bloody kill him!

You're having a bubble bath ain't you? You have to go through about 6 million different menus before you even get the chance to speak to someone!!

I've either been lucky or they've changed it ;)

In somewhat related matters, I've discovered that our upstairs phone socket no longer works (which is random enough for the thread I spose ;) ), though I've got the router plugged into the main socket downstairs now - it wasn't really an option before, and needs must now.

Holme's coat in the recent TV show cost £1k - I hope to fcuk the Beeb got it for cheaper than that (though not if it involved the sort of nonsense that sees Apple laptops pop up everywhere)

I've learned that Big Brother is still going on Channel 4. Is anyone watching? No? Thought not

i learnt last night that an iphone is perfectily acceptable to use as a normal computer (bar office work and big games..)
i did this by getting a call from my sister saying she was on a coach with 2 freinds about to arrive in glasgow and she needed somewhere to stay, i was in an indian at the time, i found her one for £17 per person :D
and iam about to go on a 4 day trip where there is no computer, so i will see how it goes :D

Today I learned that my ego's writing cheques that my body can't cash.

Today I learned that when someone's asking for your professional opinion about the film they've just cut together (and what looked like a rough cut at that), they actually want mindless praise and ass kissing, rather than honest congratulations on some great footage, and an offer from you to spend at least 2 hours going through it writing a suggested edit list to tighten it up and make it look like something other than someone's holiday footage. Especially as they're talking about selling it.

What I should probably have said is 'Cock off, you nobber.'

Well it's not entirely something I learned today but it was definitely confirmed today...

DELL ARE CRAP! Not only have I waited 3 months for laptops they have delivered 8 instead of 5

Took them 4 months to ship 1 laptop to Paris.

*stomps n curses*

Ouch, Caz, that sucks! I've had much better experiences with HP compared to Dell for corporates.

Boo! I know. Unfortunately the US arm of Disco choose the supplier so we got no choice in it.
