Kenwood chefs are one of the cases where 'you get what you pay for'. I bought one a couple of years back. They're absolutely bomb-proof. I've seen tanks that are less sturdily built. They may be expensive but it'll probably last longer than you will. Jon

Mum replaced her previous one last christmas. It was certainly older than me, and whilst they're pricey they do crop up in sales every so often. Worth every penny if you have the space...

I have a Kenwood food processor which I "inherited" from my grandmother when the speed controller broke (new diode, about 10p). I guess it's been going 20 years so far. I also have a Kenwood hand mixer. Both are in frequent use.
I think the hand mixer was about £15 and the food processor about £40.
However, I can only mix a 400g loaf in it. No problem for me, but a family might justify something larger.
And an industrial kitchen could justify spending £500!

Delivery between Xmas and the new year. Patience Mark patience. I'm sure I'll do a whole load just getting it out of the box.

I have a Duolit kettle and toaster. The toaster was a wedding present back in 1996 and I think I've had the kettle about 10 years. I don't really do enough mixing to justify £500 on one. My food processor was also a wedding present and looks practically new. But then I do keep it in a cupboard when not using it.

My mum's lasted 40 years, it was replaced with an even older model that someone didn't want any more. I think they wanted the sexier looking and even pricier kitchen aid that's so fashionable now.

It is £500 now but I got mine for £430 and through the x404 store so should have added some funds to the coffers.

Crikey, they've gone up in price, my titanium was 400 about two years ago.
Scratch that, mine is the smaller titanium.

The interesting thing is that the replacement for the KM020 the KMM020 was £100 more. Now it is less than the KM020. The version I bought had the larger bowl, a food processor and the glass blender. I have since bought some of the other accessories and will try the pasta attachment once I have run out of the dried store pasta. Apparently fresh pasta cooks faster=, but since I can only use a microwave I will have to find out how long it needs in the microwave.

I had the processor and liquidiser with it too. Fresh pasta is great, but the roller's better than the extruder, the extruder takes forever to get any pasta through.

I was looking at getting the rollers eventually. I thought I would try out the basic pasta extruder first. It might take me months to learn how to do use it properly. The rollers are on the amazon wish list already.

I'm hoping the 'Relaxwell Luxury Heated Reversible Throw' that I bought today turns out to be the best thing I've bought recently … at least until I get my 3-seater settee delivered from DFS.
