I emailed them part way through (had still been receiving emails so my email wasn't down), just not gotten a reply

So unless it takes them a few days to reply to an email (in which case why didn't they say so then I wouldn't have put my time towards an exam today)

On the plus side, applied to another company and got a test to do via google docs which sounds pretty cool, it's C instead of C++/C# though which I will need to brush up on (another 4 hour exam so will do on Sunday at some point)

Changed the serpentine belt on the Camaro this evening. Took about 15 minutes once I'd found the correct wrench for the belt tensioner.
Compared to doing a similar job on my old Accord, this was quick, easy, entirely painless, and carried out alone.
Unlike my old Accord, which took two of us and resulted in skinned knuckles and took an entire afternoon.

Has anyone had a Pug 360 D Turbo?

I'm thinking of getting one as my first car (even though I have to wait till like August/Sept time), and have just seen that it costs loads less than even a 1.25 Fiesta, and even the 1 litre Corsargh. :)

I really like the look of the Phase 1 models, especially in that goldy-orangy colour. But what are they like to drive?

They are French...

I had a few Pugs over the years, they all seemed to suffer from wobbly speedos... When driving at 50, it would wobble between 30 and 70! You had to take a guess or learn to drive off the rev counter.

That said, the Pug diesels are usually very robust, one of the reasons the 405 and 406 were loved by taxi drivers.

Build quality is typical French (see above), but the running gear tends to run and run.

The phase 3 is the best model. The electrics will be shocking though, expect randon electrical problems and the potential it's been owned by a boy racer.

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
R5 (bootleg)

R5, in the film business, is a copy of a movie made with a telecine (TC) machine from an analog source.[1]

Unlike a TC, the digitization is performed by the studio itself with very professional (and expensive) equipment and usually from the original source.[2] The purpose of it is to create a high quality digital copy (usually for a later DVD release). But unlike a DVD, an R5 is released before the digital post-processing is finished.[3] The quality of the rips can differ, but an R5 can be almost indistinguishable from a DVDRip since many movies are published on DVD with minimal editing.

The name R5 refers to DVD Region 5, which includes the former Soviet Union, the Indian subcontinent, and much of Africa.[4] In an effort to compete with movie piracy in these areas, the movie industry chose to create a new format for DVD releases that could be produced more quickly and less expensively than traditional DVD releases.[5][6] R5 releases differ from normal releases in that they often lack both the image post-processing and special features that are common on DVD releases.[7] This allows the film to be released for sale at the same time that DVD screeners are released. Since these screeners are the chief source of high-quality pre-DVD release pirated movies (in comparison to cam or telesync, mostly), this allows the movie studios to beat the pirates to market.[1][8] Bootlegged copies of these releases are often distributed on the Internet and in some cases, R5 DVDs may be released without an English audio track, requiring pirates to use the direct line audio from the film's theatrical release. In this case, the pirated release will be tagged with "LINE" to distinguish it from a release with a DVD audio track.[2][4][9]

Before the R5 tag was introduced to the scene by PUKKA, the R5 releases were tagged as TC, DVDSCR or DVDRip.[3]

Didn't know that. At least the movie industry has some sense :)

Just washed out the car's K&N filter.
OMG.
I don't know when it was done last, but sweet lordy, I was stunned at the amount of crap that's come out of it. I'm amazed she was turning over.
Rinsed the cleaner out of it in the shower under a slow jet of water I could see the cotton element changing colour as the dirt fell out of it.
Just need it to dry now, so I can re-oil it and put it back in the car.

Lol, just completed Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on the DS...

'Well done! You've won a virtual million pounds!'

And that was it

ION, I'd completely forgotten that SD cards have that write protection switch... It's a good idea, but it reminded me of floppy discs and that thing of having to put tape over VHS cassettes

Odd that the 3.5"floppy had a toggle switch, yet years later Smart Media required a circle to be covered by something sticky for write protection. They may be a bit thinner than SD, but still.
